Community Investments
Good corporate citizenship involves much more than the outlay of cash contributions - it requires a constant, caring presence and a commitment to do everything within your means to help those in need. Texas Gas Service management and employees have a strong sense of duty to the communities they serve and lend a helping hand in many ways.
Texas Gas Service, through the ONEOK Foundation, make significant cash contributions to charitable organizations and public schools in communities in our service territory. In addition to this financial support, Texas Gas Service employees provide volunteer support to many charitable organizations and events. Company executives and employees also serve on boards and committees for dozens of non-profit agencies. At Texas Gas Service, we feel that because our business is a vital part of the local economy we have an obligation to help improve the communities where we operate. After all, we live here too.
United Way
Texas Gas Service is proud to assist our communities by participating in local United Ways in the communities where we have employees. Many of our employees hold positions on local United Way boards and others volunteer their time and talents to their United Way.
Volunteers with Energy
Our employees have always volunteered their time to help community events and non-profit organizations in their communities. Volunteers with Energy is a company-wide organization of Texas Gas Service employee volunteers whose purpose is to improve quality of life by helping others through volunteer participation in community and civic activities. Membership is open to employees, retirees, spouses and family members living within our service areas.
Volunteers with Energy, began in 2004, provides a structure that allows groups of our employees to organize and select the volunteer projects that are important to them. Employees form Volunteers with Energy committees to approve and maintain a calendar of events, communicate with all Texas Gas Service employees about volunteer events, work projects, and recognize volunteers for their efforts in the community.
ONEOK Foundation
Texas Gas Service, through the ONEOK Foundation, invests its charitable contributions in programs that enhance quality of life and economic well being in the communities where we operate. Priority consideration is given to educational programs, and to health and human services organizations, particularly organizations with programs that help people gain skills for self-sufficiency. Contributions also are given in the areas of Arts & Culture, as well as to community improvement, which includes leadership development programs, as we believe that capable leadership is necessary to achieve excellence and efficiency in social service programs. Texas Gas Service believes that partnerships between the nonprofit community and the corporate community are essential to ensuring good quality of life.
