Tax Credits and Rebates
TEXAS TRADE UP APPLIANCE REBATE PROGRAM
New rebates will be available soon for the purchase of an energy-efficient appliance. As a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the U.S. Department of Energy approved the Texas trade up appliance rebate program in mid-December. Since then, the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO), which is part of the Comptroller's office, has been informing Texans how it will distribute $23 million in federal rebates on new energy-efficient appliances.
The rebates offered by SECO will be available this April. Only appliance purchase made between April 16 and April 25 will be eligible. The Texas program will also offer an incentive to recycle old appliances. Texans will be able to reserve a rebate starting Wednesday, April 7, 2010.
