El Paso -- Automated Meter Reading (AMR) Program

We are upgrading our infrastructure in El Paso. The upgrades include converting more than 100,000 meters to an Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system.

The program is intended to benefit our customers with a more convenient option for meter reading and to provide more efficient operations. The AMR system reduces the need for meter readers to be in your yard. Instead, our meter readers will be able to gather data wirelessly via a signal from the AMR system.

If you have any questions regarding this program, please call the Texas Gas Service Contact Center at 800-700-2443, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. MT, or visit us on Facebook or Twitter. You can also click here for our online contact form.

As a reminder, if you are planning a project of your own, know what's below. Call 811 at least two business days before starting your project. It’s a free call designed to keep communities safe by locating buried utility lines so that they can be avoided during excavation.

To report a natural gas odor or emergency, leave the area immediately and then call 911 and 800-959-5325.
