  • Why are you ending the Rio Grande Valley Energy Efficiency Program?
New legislation passed in 2023 requires all program proposals to be submitted to the Railroad Commission for Texas (RRC) for approval. Our new program application was denied by the RRC, and, as a result, we are unable to continue offering rebates and incentives for customers in 2026.
  • Can I still apply for a rebate?

Qualifying residential purchases and installations made by December 31, 2025, will be eligible for rebate offerings under the 2025 program on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted. Customers can submit a rebate form for a purchase/installation performed in 2025 for residential retrofit or new residential construction rebates or incentives within 180 days of the purchase or installation date, through June 29, 2026.

We are currently unable to process commercial customer rebates, as funds for this program have been depleted.

Purchases made after Dec. 31, 2025, will not qualify for rebates.

  • Why was I denied an appliance rebate when I met the requirements?

Texas Gas Service’s Energy Efficiency Program for customers in the Rio Grande Valley expires on December 31, 2025. Purchases and/or installations made after December 31, 2025, will not be eligible for rebate offerings, as there will be no rebate program in place.

If your purchase and/or installation was made by December 31, 2025, and you’re unsure why you were denied a rebate, please email energyefficiency@texasgasservice.com for further assistance.

  • Will I be charged for your program once it has expired?
