The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) is reviewing a new program proposal, and we look forward to offering an expanded program soon.

  • Can I still apply for a rebate?
Because Texas Gas Service's Energy Efficiency Program for residential and commercial customers in Central Texas expired on December 31, 2024, we are unable to accept and process rebate applications.

Purchases made between January 1, 2025, and the launch date of the new program will not qualify for rebates.
  • Why did you end the Central Texas Energy Efficiency Program?
Legislation passed in 2023 established the RRC as the regulatory authority for energy conservation programs, requiring new program proposals to be submitted for approval. Existing programs expired at the end of the 2024 calendar year and the RRC is reviewing our new program proposal. We look forward to bringing you an expanded program soon!
  • Why was I denied an appliance rebate when I met the requirements?
Because Texas Gas Service no longer has an Energy Efficiency Program for customers in Central Texas, we’re unable to process rebate applications. We are awaiting approval from the RRC for a new Energy Efficiency Program.
  • Will I be charged for your program since it has expired?
No, customers will not be charged for an energy conservation program during the interim period between December 31, 2024, and the launch of the new program.
  • When will the new Central Texas Energy Efficiency Program be available?
The new program proposal is under review with the Railroad Commission of Texas, and we do not have an exact date to share. Once the new program is approved, we can share more details, including a launch date.
  • I have more questions. Who can I speak to?
