Texas Gas Service has always prioritized the communities it serves. Our employees are committed to educating the public about our services and supporting nonprofits and educational institutions that play a pivotal role in uplifting our communities. Here are some of the initiatives we took part in last month.

ABC Kite Fest, Austin

Texas Gas Service’s Energy Efficiency team attended the 93rd annual ABC Kite Fest in Austin, one of the city’s long-standing traditions. Founded as a festival to foster creativity in children, ABC Kite Fest is now the country’s longest-running festival of its kind. We’re proud to support an event that donates to Communities in Schools of Central Texas and the Moss Pieratt Foundation. Our team shared a booth with Austin Energy at the event and provided helpful information about natural gas rebates and incentives for customers to save money.

MountainStar Sports Raffle, El Paso

Texas Gas Service recently joined forces with the MountainStar Sports Foundation for a 50/50 Raffle at all home games for the El Paso Chihuahuas baseball team and the El Paso Locomotive soccer team. Each night, a winner in the audience received half the money raised that evening, and the rest of the donations went to MountainStar Foundation for nonprofit grants. As the main sponsor, Texas Gas Service, selected six local nonprofits to receive $3,000 each, for a total of $18,000 invested in the El Paso community. Texas Gas Service presented the $3,000 donations to:
"We are proud to partner with Texas Gas Service to provide a gift to these deserving groups,” said Brad Taylor, general manager of the El Paso Chihuahuas and vice president of MountainStar Sports Group. “Texas Gas Service has the vision and commitment to serve its community, and their partnership in helped create the financial resources to be given locally.”

Helping Hand Home for Children, Austin

Helping Hands

Every year, Texas Gas Service sponsors Easter baskets for children at Helping Hand Home for Children (HHHC) in Austin, which provides residential care to children in the foster care system who experience emotional and behavioral problems. We love this annual tradition and are proud of TGS employees and Community Relations for sponsorship of these baskets again this year. They bring so much joy to the children and families served by HHHC.

Sanchez Elementary School Grand Opening, Austin

After two long-awaited years, the Texas Gas Service team sponsored and celebrated the grand opening of Sanchez Elementary School’s newly renovated facility in Austin. As a long-time partner to the school, we’re thrilled to continue supporting the institution and look forward to the annual holiday party on the new grounds.

City of McAllen Safety Fair, McAllen

McAllen

We attended a safety fair in McAllen in conjunction with Texas 811 to emphasize the importance of safe digging practices and calling 811 before digging underground. This aligned with a campaign we ran throughout the month of April, also known as Safe Digging Month. Local news station, Azteca News, featured a story following the event on the evening news.
